Episode 20: A PAX East Feast

Here we are with the milestone Episode 20! The crew is back from PAX East, and we had an incredible time. Sadly, Krissy decided to go and contract the PAX Plague, so she couldn’t join us on the episode. This time around, Skya steps in to bring you the news, and the non-ill crew members bring you a breakdown of our favorite information shared by Carbine at their WildStar panel. There was a lot to talk about, and much more than we can fit into one show. Datix and Domichi are back with a brand-spanking-new D&D, and we give you our list of cosplays we want to see at the next PAX East. Last but not least, make sure you keep your ears open for details on our Rowsdower Plushie giveaway. We’re not going to give you the exact location in the show notes, because that would be cheating. And cheating is wrong. Frankly, you should be ashamed of yourselves. I’m ashamed for you.

It was a pleasure to meet you guys at PAX East Boston. Fantastic podcast. Keep up the good work.

    – Guy who shared the table. ha

  2. Big Daddy Kane says:

First for Rowsdower! Favorite thing they showed at PaxEast for Wildstar was the Raiding!

  3. Jennifer Dahlquist says:

Favorite thing showed at PaxEast for Wildstar was to see the content about the raids.

  4. Ayenea says:

Loved the Rowsdower, I would have bough one if I had been able to go to PaxEast!
My favorite thing had to be the soloable story instances because I love lore in game, but I also have to give some hype to the raids – they looked amazing and actually difficult!

  5. Eliot Short says:

It is actually hard to say due to the sheer volume of stuff that went on. Drusera was pretty cool, but for me it was a tie between being able to USE A BOSS IN A WARPLOT or the insane footage of the Datascape raid. Love the idea of a whole raid room full of movement puzzles instead of trash mobs.

  6. Rarrg says:

Well done as always, but now I’m trying to figure out how to do LEDs for a Caretaker cosplay….

The Drusera info was probably my favorite thing we learned. Deeper storylines available to solo players? Yes please!

  7. Raxis says:

I can’t choose what was the best shown. There’s was awesome news thrown at us left right and centre. Of course I’d have to go with the rowsdower. But raids looked awesome, and for you PvPers, those Warplots looked unreal! And HOLY CRAP! We can use raid/dungeon bosses as military! YES PLEASE. The Duesara instances looked really interesting and engaging too. I might have to take hours of my raiding time to experience what happens to the Eldan :) Anyway, it’s a pleasure to listen to your podcast each and every episode. Hope you guys had a great time at pax! If only I had the chance to attend :P

  8. Jaedis says:

You guys chose awesome music for the contest bit btw xD
My favorite part was absolutely the new solo instances! I love running around being part of an epic story

  9. Galadeon says:

Favorite thing I saw from WildStar at PaxEast was the Warplots stuff. Looking forward to killing Dominion!

  10. Emmarium says:

So many to pick from from Pax East, but gotta go with the Warplots since I knew next to nothing about them before the panel!

  11. Kaeret says:

I’m not much of a pvp’er, but gotta say my fave thing was the Warplot information. Everything from the customization, raid boss helpers and the overall look of it has even me thinking I just may have to get involved in that, because it looks too awesome to pass up.

  12. Misati says:

I was really excited to hear about Drusera and the solo instanced storyline quests. I like it when they use a specific storyline to engage you in the quests, but hate to be the one holding up the group who has already played through something when I want to read the details or watch the cutscene.

    Also, Stephan Frost.

  13. Nicholas says:

This is such a hard choice… There was so many great things shown at Pax. There was news coming from every angle. Of course to start off I’d have to go with the rowsdower plushies. They’re just so cute and fluffy! The raids looked so thrilling and engaging. I can’t wait to delve hours and hours into raiding. Each boss looks extremely polished and unique. Those Telegraphs looked crazy. I’ll happily wipe, after wipe, after wipe :)

For you PvPers, Warplots looked utterly awesome. Everything from the customisation, to the Laser walls and Super novas! And HOLY CRAP! We can use raid and dungeon bosses as guards. Yes please! The Drusera info was great. I think I’ll have to take some time off raiding to experience what happened to the Elden and corruption slowly eating up Nexus.

Best of all, I’d have to say watching the devs faces just light up as they got to show off their game they’re truly passionate about. Many laughs were had and it was overall an amazing panel to watch. I was so excited about this competition I even drew up some Wildstar Rowsdower fan art! : http://imgur.com/slPZpOI

Anyway, It is a pleasure to listen to you guys each and every week. I truly appreciate how much effort you guys put in every week. It sounds like you guys had a blast at Pax! Wish I could’ve attend to buy one of those cute, cuddly Plushies. Also, #DatPinkDoe.

  14. Sarah says:

I can’t even begin to start to express how excited I am for Wildstar raids. I feel like it will really push the limits and keep things entertaining as it appears to require a lot of skill… and a lot of patience (expect wipes). A lot of us PvErs have some practicing to do because it looks far from easy, time to put all that keyboard turning on the shelf.

  15. Zak Miller says:

Great episode, you guys have super good chemistry.

Very informative breakdown of PAX. My rowsdower, Chumbo Dimbus and I listened as he frolicked on the lawn.

  16. Michael says:

Favorite part of PAX East was the SUPER PANEL going over everything from those delicious Pink Legendaries to those 40 v 40 Warplots!

  17. Wombohead says:

Favourite thing about PAX was the Warplots Flick. Also loved seeing the warrior in the raid use his leap ability to jump across platforms :)

  18. Vanthis says:

For me the best thing from PAX was learning more about the elder game and reward system. I love that they are providing so many options for players at the level cap and not just the same tired raiding and loot grind.

One month and counting, I can’t wait!

  19. scott says:

Favorite thing from pax was finding out about the new story insances!

  20. Maris says:

I’m not usually into PVP, but I think the Warplots and using bosses in Warplots adds a new dimension that makes PVP something I can’t wait to try!

  21. Pampoliev says:

I just loved the Warplots Flick!

  22. Penorzilla says:

    Definitely the raiding!

  23. Kayden says:

All of these articles have saved me a lot of heeahcads.

  24. Excellent site you have here but I was wanting to know if you knew of any forums that cover the same topics discussed here? I’d really like to be a part of online community where I can get feedback from other knowledgeable people that share the same interest. If you have any recommendations, please let me know. Thanks a lot!

  27. I know my kids would like the Mozzarella Sticks best – but I see there are some with marinara sauce in them too – I think I might like to try those. It all looks good to me though – I love appetizers!
