The WildStar fan community was buzzing all day Wednesday with the announcement of the second round of closed beta invites (check your spam folder) and the release of the patch notes for said upcoming beta. Now, I am not going to cover everything from WildStar Wednesday, you can read the entire post here, but one thing that really caught my eye was the renaming of the attributes.
Up until now, the attributes have been Dodge, Dip, Duck, Dive, and Dodge… just kidding, but as a tank that is what I like to think they are. Actually they were Strength, Dexterity, Technology , Magic, Wisdom, and Stamina. These six attributes have been renamed to Brutality, Finesse, Tech, Moxie, Insight, and Grit, respectively.
For the four known classes, the primary attributes will be:
- Warrior: Brutality for Assault (DPS), Tech for Support (TANK)
- Stalker: Finesse for Assault (DPS), Tech for Support (TANK)
- Esper: Moxie for Assault (DPS), Insight for Support (HEAL)
- Spellslinger: Finnesse for Assault (DPS), Insight for Support (HEAL)
This really isn’t anything more than just giving each attribute new name but I really like what they did here and I hope that new attribute names are here to stay. Stacking Brutality, Finesse, or Moxie to DPS sounds more appealing and less generic to me than Strength, Dexterity, and Magic; plus it really does give the attribute system some ‘WildStar-ian’ flair.
